Healing from Sexual Trauma

Our course examines sexual violence on a personal and societal scale, in which identity may be damaged or altered through harassment or violence. We teach how stress and anxiety manifest in the body and mind post-trauma, as well as discuss the ways society facilitates sexual violence through victim-blaming narratives, rape culture, and shame. We offer different trauma-informed recovery tools, including modern somatic-care, and have greater discussions of body image and sexual desire after assault.

"I have a much better understanding of how society enables various forms of abuse and silencing of victims, I am beginning to feel a lightening of guilt in the belief that it was all my fault. It is feeling more possible to leave the past in the past and be who I am now, safe, and loving toward myself, not defined by those who have hurt me. Thank you so much Bloom team for what you do."
